Salman Khan no longer part of Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again?

Salman Khan’s iconic character Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg franchise is rumored to appear in Singham Again.

Salman Khan’s beloved cop character Chulbul Pandey from the series Dabangg is rumored to be a part of Singham Again. Several reports have claimed that Rohit Shetty has roped in the superstar for a cameo in the film. While the cameo would have really enhanced the crime movie experience, it is now being reported that the cameo was unable to be filmed. A report by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Salman was scheduled to film the cameo last week. However, due to Baba Siddique’s sudden death, Rohit Shetty did not see fit to call him on the set to film the scene.

The source told the publication that Rohit felt it would be insensitive to call a grieving Salman to film the scene, even if it was a shoot scheduled for one day. To complicate matters, Rohit and the team had to submit the film for certification to the Censor Board by Friday, October 18. With a limited window to shoot the cameo, Rohit decided to scrap it this time.

“The one-day shoot was scheduled to take place at Golden Tobacco in Mumbai, however, due to the sudden death of Baba Siddiqui, the shoot was canceled. Rohit and Ajay later had internal discussions and felt that it would be insensitive to ask Salman Khan to shoot amid all the controversy. The duo was racing against time to submit their film to the censors and decided to submit the film without Salman Khan’s appearance,” the source said.

“Filming with Salman, just a day or two after Baba Siddiqui’s death, was insensitive. And Rohit had to submit Singham Again to the censors by Friday, October 18. That’s when they made the difficult decision to move forward and respect Salman Khan’s privacy,” the source added.

Although Salman’s appearance may not feature in the film, the report states that there are chances that his back in uniform may feature in the post-credits scene.

Baba Siddique was assassinated on October 12. He was shot dead while leaving his son’s office in Bandra East. Gang member Lawrence Bishnoi took responsibility for Siddique’s death and issued a warning to Salman Khan. Despite the threats, Salman not only rushed to the hospital to see Siddique’s family after his death, but also participated in the funeral rituals before Siddique’s burial. In the recent episode of Bigg Boss 18, Salman admitted that he was not in the mood to film the episode due to the recent turn of events.

Meanwhile, Singham Again is all set to release this Diwali. The film stars Ajay Devgn in the lead while Kareena Kapoor plays the role of his wife. The film features Arjun Kapoor as the villain who kidnaps Kareena and triggers a Ramayan-like battle. Ajay seeks help from Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar and others to save Kareena. The film is expected to release on Diwali this year.
