As part of a new experiment, YouTube is testing a new Shorts interface that replaces the “Dislike” (thumbs-down) button with Save.

According to a recent report from Android Authority, the video sharing platform owned by Google, users who are part of the limited test will no longer see the “Dislike” button, but will instead see the “Save” function .

Unlike YouTube Premium’s experimental features, which require user registration, the update is rolling out randomly. If you are affected by the change and would like to no longer like Shorts, the option can be accessed by tapping the three-dot menu at the top right of the screen.

YouTube says the change is currently limited to a few users. YouTube says the change is currently limited to a few users. (Express photo)

To save YouTube short films, tap the Save button which appears either below the Like button or in the three-dot menu and YouTube will ask you if you want to save it to an existing playlist or create a new one .

While this makes it easier to save Shorts, many users will likely scroll to the next Shorts without hating them. This change may be good news for creators, but the downside is that low-quality Shorts may appear higher in your feed.

Festive offer

However, the YouTube Shorts UI change is still being tested, so it’s still unclear whether Google will apply the change to everyone or roll it back.

Recently, the company announced that creators on the platform will be able to create short films up to 3 minutes long. Apparently, YouTube is also hiding the “Skip” button on ads as part of a UI update for some, covering it with a black rectangle.
